In this travelog we record our trips over the years and what we all enjoyed, didn’t enjoy and maybe just totally hated. Brace yourselves!
This is the chronology of trips by year. Follow the links through to the trip pages and photographs. Add your memories in the Comments so it becomes a good record of what we all liked, disliked and remember best about each trip.

| 2019 | An amazing trip to New York for Dawn’s ??th birthday, a trip to London for my birthday, Weymouth for a great few days with Tom, Shari and Daisy, later in the week we went out to the very-windy Durdle Door and then off to Preston for a family reunion and 75th birthday celebrations |
| 2018 | A massive adventure to Orlando taking in Disney World, Universal Studios, Legoland (what an adventure that was (not)!) and the Kennedy Space Centre. There’s a day-by-day record of the Theme Park Days as well |
| 2017 | A busy year with a birthday Chelsea Stadium Tour for Aaron, a summer break in the Costa del Sol, a winter hop to Weston Super Mare culminating with Blenheim Palace at Christmas |
| 2016 | A summer holiday in Brittany an autumn trip to Rome with the boys in tow. |
| 2015 | Another busy year with a trip to London, Robot Wars, a return to Harry Potter World, a holiday for Dawn back to Scarborough to reminisce on childhood memories and the event of the year – Tom and Shari’s wedding in Bath. |
| 2014 | Busy year, where we maximised the Merlin Membership by going to London in March, back again in August, Blackpool and Blackpool Tower, Chessington, Alton Towers and even found time to take in the Netherlands and a trip up north to Dawn’s Nan’s 90th bash. I guess we must have found time for work and school at some point!! |
| 2013 | Early 2013 brought some health challenges but in the later half we blew them away with trips to Tenerife, Legoland, London and as it was Dave’s 50th we had a party arranged by Dawn and a trip to Harry Potter in Leavesden. |
| 2012 | Another day-trip trip to Camber Sands, we went to to Pooh Country when dropping Aaron off at camp (he loved that camping trip!!), we went to London for the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee in Hyde Park, a trip to Preston, little holiday in Bath to see Tom, Disneyland Paris in February, a holiday in Holland whilst I was working there, Tali and Jay’s wedding and a weekend in London to see the Christmas lights. The last two years have been crazy with trips. |
| 2011 | Busy year, 2011, with a trip to Chessington World of Adventures, camping at Camber Sands, Margate Regatta, Tom’s graduation, Drayton Manor (and Cadbury World), the O2 to see Kylie and a holiday in Great Yarmouth! I’m tired just typing it up here! |
| 2010 | Summer in Weymouth, anniversary in Rome |
| 2009 | The summer holiday was in Poole this year, we went to Amy and Mike’s wedding in Lincoln, had a visit from Dawn’s Mum and sister (Michelle) and a mega trip to Las Vegas to celebrate Dawn’s 40th birthday. |
| 2008 | With Sam being born in February, and a kitchen refit, we just had a trip to Bath including the Haynes Motor Museum, Longleat and meeting up with Tom |
| 2007 | Just a minor trip to London for our anniversary and a major trip to Disney World. Dawn was pregnant with Sam so no rock-climbing or wild water rides – but lots of bag watching for her 🙁 |
| 2006 | Spring in Salou as it was a bit cooler and an anniversary trip to (not) remember to Madrid where Dawn was poorly most of the time with food poisoning. |
| 2005 | Back to Wayside for our summer 2005 holiday, a trip to Brussels for Dave and Dawn and day trips to Biggin Hill and the Science Museum |
| 2004 | A trip to Wiltshire 2004 to see the sights and some family, a return to Paris in the autumn, a short break at Devon Cliffs, Thomas The Tank Engine Day at the Bluebell Railway and a day trip to Margate |
| 2003 | This was the year we took Aaron and Mum to Clacton for our first family holiday and then had a trip to Rome for an anniversary trip. |
| 2002 | We didn’t travel in 2002 as Dawn had Aaron in April. Tom and I did get a day out with Alex and Ian at Thorpe Park though. |
| 2001 | A weekend break in Edinburgh whilst Dawn was working there for back-to-back weeks, a holiday in Spain during April when it is cooler at Pueblo Camelot, a trip to Paris when Dawn was pregnant with Aaron and a summer break in Warwick – again while Dawn was working there. |
| 2000 | A two-city, two-week, trip covering Los Angeles, Las Vegas then back to Los Angeles, where we bought our first digital camera so the picture-count goes up from here |
