What a disaster…..
Just under an hour drive and it’s HOT when we get there.
Quite an impressive Miniworld – bigger than the UK as you’d expect – but some impressive structures.
Then we move over to what was reported as a 15 minute queue for a low-thrill safari ride. After queuing for 20-25 minutes the ride that was slow to load cars stopped and people started getting off.
Over to the Dinosaur ride and as we snake though the queue line, something seems wrong as people are walking towards us. Odd! Nope, not when this ride is now broken too! Getting annoyed!
OK, let’s try the boat driving. They seem to be moving so we queue. Within minutes the boats stop leaving the dock and the staff are dragging those in boats through the boarding dock. This is looking painfully familiar. Then we see boats stranded in the lake. Another ride broken and rumours of a power cut are overheard.
Well, the car driving school looks to be open. People are in the line and they are taking Driving License photos. Sam has his taken and we join the line. 10-15 minutes later, nobody has gone through the door to the driving school area. I overhear someone ask if the ride is working and they are told “Yes it is!”. A few minutes later someone appears from behind the door to the Driving Area and declares “I’m sorry, we’re experiencing some problems and the ride is temporarily closed”.
Very annoyed! Time to give up and try to get as refund.
As we walk back through the park to the Gate we hear that the power is out from Mini-Land back but all between Mini-land and the gate is working. Great! Not worth the money we paid.
Guest Services were very helpful and offered a re-entry but we declined as we were going back to the UK in a few days and hadn’t got time to come back. They offered a refund but said it would be less than we paid Virgin. They offered to call Virgin about a refund.
It took 40-45 mins in total but the Legoland Team Manager did come back with confirmation that Virgin would refund me in about a week.
So, with disappointment all round we headed back to the car and to the Hotel.
As a consolation, we spend a couple of hours in the hotel pool. A bit weird as it’s warm and salty. Didn’t seem the place to go to cool off – warm water! Boys enjoyed some time in the pool though.
Showers and Applebees for dinner. Shouldn’t have had the nachos starter. Didn’t finish my Chicken Parmesan. Who eats two chicken breasts AND pasta in such quantities?!
